Hey guys! We are Lauren and Leigh from Organoblondes, and we are so excited to guest post for the lovely ladies of IDGTTG! We are two sisters, one mama and one avid traveler, who are experimenting with ways to live a more natural, organic, and chemical-free lifestyle. But don’t get us wrong, we won’t be giving up our wine our bacon any time soon! We believe in the 80/20 rule because there’s always a little wiggle room for a vice or two!
Here at OB, we are obsessed with smoothies! They pack a pretty heavy nutrient punch and are so refreshing in the hot summer months. Drink a smoothie every morning and you will feel amazing the rest of the day! I was feeling a little adventurous in the kitchen this week so I decided to mix my two favorite smoothies for a sweet treat! Both recipes are super easy and so tasty! They will make two small smoothies or one huge one if you’re drinking one as a meal replacement.
Fruit Smoothie:
• 1 cup mixed berries (this one contains strawberries and raspberries)
• ¼ cup plain greek yogurt
• ¼ cup coconut water
• a dash of ice
Green Smoothie:
• 1 cup spinach
• ½ avocado
• 1 cup frozen papaya and banana (I found a frozen tropical fruit mix in the freezer section)
• ¼ cup greek yogurt
• ¼ cup steeped green tea
Mix the two together and that’s it! We drink these in the morning because there’s a little caffeine kick from the green tea to get us going. If you’re not down with green tea or caffeine then you can replace with coconut water or almond milk. It’s got everything you need! Fruit, vegetables, healthy fats, calcium and all sorts of nutrients! We hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we do! Pop on over to Organoblondes and check out some more of our healthy and organic recipes. We’re still learning too, so we’d love to hear from you!
